You will join the Reactor Block, Fuel and Sources group, which is part of the Mechanical Engineering Service in the ILL’s Reactor Division. We are looking for two mechanical maintenance technicians, who will be part of the Load handling sub-group in the Reactor Block, Fuel and Sources group.
Your tasks
Your duties will be to:
• Maintain the equipment that makes up the reactor’s handling facilities: fuel handing columns, reactor pool gates, etc.
• Monitor the subcontracted maintenance of certain equipment: handling cranes and gantries, diesel generator sets
• Conduct periodic inspections and requalification of the pressure equipment used by the group
• Draft procedures, technical specifications, minutes and reports
• Manage maintenance sites from their preparatory phase through to completion of the work
• Assist on an occasional basis with the operation of other equipment under the group’s responsibility.
Depending on the position for which you are recruited, your duties will be to:
• Either: perform fuel-related handling operations: fuel element loading and unloading operations, replacement of water inside the fuel handling columns.
• Or: operate and maintain the hot cell used to cut up irradiated equipment and produce radioisotopes for the pharmaceutical industry.
